Stills and motion for emotions

Photography: Nael Nassan

By: Hazem Alqaddi, Elettra Bisogno, Nael Nassan
6 – 17 July 2021, A Gadder Museum, Belvaux

The set-up of this video and photography atelier was to invite participants to collect particularities of daily life through visual recordings. Together with the hosts the aim was to build further knowledge on filming and photographing, experiencing with cameras, video-apps, and mainly to connect and share life experiences through video. The atelier transformed in a place of reflection and technical experimentation, discussing work and potentials. All carefully moved around the camera; it can be playful in one context, but aggressive in another. Are dreams too personal to record? How much time and trust does a documentary approach need? And can fiction offer protection for the intimacy of the camera lense?

Film director Adolf El Assal visited the atelier, shared his knowledge and engaged in a moving conversation on film and the position of the filmmaker.

Hazem Alqaddi interviewed Parisse Boumpoutou about his dreams on the future. Filmed by Elettra Bisogno and Nael Nassan.
